Question regarding MB upgrade

Thread Starter
hello all im currently running on a gateway fx6831-01 with an upgraded PSU (Corsair ax750) and upgraded GFX card (GTX 570). Im looking into upgrading my case to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811112239

My question is this, im really unfamiliar with MB layout and im not sure if i have a proprietary MB. (i know its an intel h57 express), so if anyone could give me some insight on if i have to upgrade the MB that would be great. Also if i do have to upgrade assuming i just swap out all of the components in the gateway including the hard drive, will it basically just be plug and play as far as all of the components go with the new MB, or will i need to wipe everything.

Thanks for taking the time to help a noob builder out

I think the case that it has already looks pretty decent. The motherboard that you have in your case is a micro atx board, so while it will fit in the case, it will look sort of tiny The way that I would go about things is to either just keep the case that you have and grab a nice 1156 micro atx board, and do some overclocking (which would be the cheapest scenario) or grab the case that you want and a full atx board (plus a cooler) and overclock
