Need your opinion FAST --- sell my i7-980X and buy i7-2600K??

Hello guys!

I just build my new computer about 8 days ago
i7-980X w/ Corsair H70, EVGA E770 Classified3
3x GTX580 SLI, and 12GB 6x2 Corsair Dominator GT mems.

Everything is awesome for now! i overclocked my bad boy to 4.37GHz and i got about 58xxx score in 3DMark Vantage (GPUs are stock for mfr speeds of 815MHz)
i didn't try a lot of games other than Team Fortress 2 & Grand Theft Auto IV which they don't support SLI (sadly..especially GTA IV), don't get the wrong idea! i have about all the modern games, but i didn't had a chance to try them out....too lazy lol
so i can't really tell how performance i get with the games that support SLI.

Anyway.....i decided to sell my 980X for about $819..i had to drop down the price because i don't think that anyone will buy it! even if it's only for 2 weeks use, there is not a lot of people buys this high end stuff
and for the motherboard maybe $319, so now i have $1138 after sellings those two.

That's why i decided to go for i7-2600K and ASUS Maximus IV Extreme (im already in love with this board!)
and they will only cost me $679.98 and there is $458 left.....awesome!

I think this setup is about the same performance and much more cheaper! and i also can get better overclock speeds.
Oh and i forgot about my 12GB Corsair memories, i'll sell them too for about $430 and i think i'll go for Corsair Vengeance 8GB 4x2 1600MHz 8-8-8-24 CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8 $139.99

What do you guys think? do you agree with me selling my 980X and E770 board? do you agree with me buying the exact mobo & memory i selected?

Thanks to all of you!

Do they even make a triple SLI 1155 board?

EDIT:Welp...guess they do...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128465

I dont know if I would want to turn around and sell or not. Ive been contemplating this as well. For that amount of money you could get the 2600k the mobo I linked and still have cash left over.

If anyone is on 1366 currently... moving to 1155 is just not a smart move. What exactly are you going to gain? A bigger OC? Puuuleeeese!

Its your money tho... do what makes you happy..... I feel you will regret the move if you do it tho.

whats up with the tri sli tho?? only one monitor ... for shame !

Hmm....what do you mean by waste time?

For the performance, 2600k gives a really nice performance, and there is not going to be any BIG lose of performance, my GTX580s can still do their job.

keep it u wont gain anything by getting i72600k and instead u will get less pcie lanes on 1155 board or ur tri sli which will effect ur graphics performance....

Maybe you should've thought about this 8 days ago before dropping coin on Intel's most expensive chip. i5-2500k and i7-2600k are better for gaming. Sell it get some $ back.
