AHCI wont allow me to boot from CD

Thread Starter
So basically, when I have the AHCI mode on, my windows won’t allow me to boot from CD.

I'm trying to reformat my computer. The way I did it before I installed windows in IDE mode. After windows installed I then changed it to AHCI mode. I'm not sure if that’s a bad thing, I never had any problems, but I read here people saying its always best to install windows in AHCI mode. Does anyone know why I can’t boot the windows CD in AHCI mode?

Please Help.

Update: I just installed it in IDE mode fine. Then when I changed it to AHCI mode in the bios its giving me a huge problem. When windows loads it does a BSOD. I'm so confused.

You need to switch it to AHCI in windows first.

I did a quick search so you can probably find better guides.
