nice laptop specs. looks like youre having a software issues because the samsung laptop would be more than enough.

windows 7 is much better than windows xp or 2000.

are u running/accessing music on the fly from an external usb hard drive?

I have a buddy that DJs, he uses software called 'Serato.' mac and PC compatible. runs flawless

Itch is a particular version of Serato made specifically to bundled with external hardware.

I'm sorry but it shouldn't freeze at all........ have you tried to check your temperatures ??? Is Itch and everyting else upgraded to the last version ????
or maybe is it a problem in loading the tracks from the hard-drives?????

How's the ns7 ??? is it really heavy and big ??? does it work fine ?
I've always wanted to buy one since they showed it the first time, but when i saw the price I became really sad; I think it's really cool to have spinning platters.........

well just saying it might be my laptop cause at guitar center they were running the turntables with a mac on 8 gb of memory and Idk where but i remember someone saying you should have atleast 6 gb of memory to run the program flawless and i was running itunes to at the same time which i ussually wouldnt but for a couple reasons I wanted to have itunes up at the same time so Idk if that couldve been a problem. But when I was clicking songs to drag them to play them on 1 side of the tracks I was experiencing some pretty bad lag or w/e you would call it and I thought every time I was going to drag a song somewhere it was going to freeze on me. and ya itch is the latest version I didnt check my temperatures Idk how I would change my temperatures on my laptop but i might try that and set my stuff up today if that could be the problem. what do u mean it might be a problem uploading the tracks from the harddrive could having 400g + of music on my harddrive slow my computer down and make it freeze didnt think that worked like that. and when I ment switching OS i ment to something very light like linux or unbuntu or w/e is out there.

and for how the N7fx is its pretty awesome I cant personally compare it to to many things because I only used one other setup to spin and it was a cd one which was a huge pain in the but!!!!! and for the price I got an awesome deal on ebay I got the whole package N7fx setup and the case which is really nice to have if your going to travell with it for 1250 shipped when its 1500 just for the n7fx without the case and the case is another 300 bucks i think. if your interested defiently search ebay and what I did before I bought these was I went to guitar center and they had these set up so you can play around with them so I went there multiple times for an hour + just playing with them to make sure I wanted to buy them and they work great im very happy with them when my computer doesnt freeze lol . I have them with the case and I dont think they are that heavy 1 person can pick it up and put it in the back of their trunk with the case that has 2 handles on each side and the case has wheels so you can roll it around to I wouldnt imagine being able to transport this without a case even tho they says its pretty heavy duty I would ebe afraid it would break.

hahhah
guitar center
6 gigs is more then enough for mixing and even producing from the laptop
ITUNES sucks specially when djing and using that "drag and drop feature"
What you should do instead is make use of the software serato rather than using the drag and drop method
ITUNES is a memory hog from when i used it: among other things:
I dont like itunes ditch it get other medium that is lighter load and less intensive as itunes

Having 400+ gigs of musik on your internal hard drive is no bueno Specially for djing
Your going to want to use an external instead get something that is usb3 if your comp is able to use it( it doesnt matter though usb3 can be used in usb2 ports)

Your eating up a bunch of your speed by trying to access musik from that HDD and use the software at maximum to dj or produce....

So go out Move alllll of your musik into an descent external hard drive that you know is reliable to your likings and use that for your collection then utilize the ITch library....They made it just for this purpose

Have fun man
(ha i have a toshiba aa65-s1062 and set it up with KorgPadKontrol with ableton lightweight version and it ran
all libraries were on external so yup wouldnt recomend using this toshiba though for anything as it SUCKS)

But good luck with it seriously free up that hard drive and your good to go also look up background programs and such that could be taking up your cpu and mem that might help but doubtfull

ya didnt do it yet but i think the main reason for my problems is having all the music on my harddrive on the computer i alrdy have a 500g external harddrive so im going to transfer all my music to that and see hwo it goes and the reason why I was clicking and dragging with itunes is because I had playlist made which helped find music but I just found out with itch you can transfer all your itunes libaray and playlist over to itch which is awesome ill let you know if that fixes my problem I think it will.

or you could just make the play list as a file set on your hard drive and open it directly in itch
so you just have those tracks right there in front of you without having to scroll through hell to find something
