Most users run Sandy Bridge 24/7 completely safe and stable at 5Ghz+

And how do you get 1.2Ghz? To get the same performance as a 5Ghz Sandy Bridge CPU I would have to overclock my CPU by another 2Ghz...

Intel is Ahead of schedule on Ivy bridge. I think they can take a hit, but I also feel like AMD has a chance to make a come back out of this. I believe it was HP that missed there launch for there new notebook line this week due to the recall. This may open a window for AMD to "Sell Quality."

Lets say I was a Sales guy for XXX's computer stuff.
customer asks "Is Intel better than AMD."

I reply "Well Intel just had to recall there Boards. but AMD just released a new CPU that is pretty decent."

^^That may be a little extreme, but what if you just had to return your computer because of a recall?

I like the fastest CPU for the price, regardless Intel or AMD. I just hope AMD can make a come back. I want to see this become a "Free Market" to drop prices on both ends.

The direction of the CPU market is going good, but the Proof is in the pudding. LETS GO AMD!!! and pudding!!!
That is utter nonsense. Have you forgotten about the whole Phenom I fiasco already?

I don't care how small Bulldozers die size is, or how efficient it is, It better PERFORM and I meen PERFORM a good deal faster per-clock then Thuban based CPU's else AMD is in trouble..

I'm an AMD fan but if I've waited for a CPU that doesn't run that much faster then my current one I'm not going to be impressed.

As it stands to match a 5Ghz Sandy Bridge I've got to clock my 1075T at 6.2Ghz.... AMD are that far behind and have some serious performance to make up on...

Bulldozer better deliver or expect a lot of AMD based system to be put up for sale world wide while people move to Intel.... And mine will be one of them..
I never said anything about Bulldozers die size, I said Ivy Bridge is a die shrink, any performance increase will be from higher stock clocks and maybe a bit of optimization in the microcode and other small parts of the CPU, all in all that 20% will be more like 5% or 10% for us overclockers unless the chips get far higher speeds in Ghz.

This, companies seem to make heaps of mistakes when they're cornered.

For example, the Pentium III 1113Mhz (Was unstable from factory and AMD had faster chips and higher clock speeds), the Phenom 1 TLB bug (Core 2 Duo and Core i7, enough said.) and now this. (Intel trying to get SB out before Bulldozer)

My 2 cents is that, AMD must get this Bulldozer out in time and with good performance... if not ... i really can predict lots of AMD users going away from AMD, specially with the SB prices ...

I really like AMD and i really wish they get a pretty good cpu out ... if they don't... my guess is that they will be in bad waters ...

ATI is going the same way ... 69** 's were not as good as we though, drivers are not getting better...

I mean, it's very serious issues here... And let's admit that price wise, Nvidia and ATI don't performe that far away from each other ... neither will Sandy Bridge and Bull's ...

So ... it's a very important step for AMD ... hope they get it right

You are Preachin to the Choir My friend. I think AMD Knows this. They want it all right before Release. But so far I think the potential of the new architecture is good. But that is just a guess for me.

I am going i7 if this is a Fail.
