circut problems/confusion. need urgent help

so im hoping to achieve this

but have a few problems. i dont understand where to put the cables that go to the 12v or how its powered. heres some pics of mine so far until i got confused.

The +12V from the PSU connects to the Anode of the first LED. The ground from the PSU goes to the remaining terminal on the switch, the remaining pin on the transistor, and the wire going to the audio connector's ground. Essentially the audio connector plugs into the sound card, when this has a voltage potential it switches the transistor connecting it's "input" to ground (allowing the LEDs to flash); the switch is there to select if the LEDs are sound controlled or always on, with a center-off switch you can also turn them off entirely.

This is all shown in the colored "schematic" and wiring diagram he provided.
