Did it ????

I am running my 1055T @ stock with my pair of 6870's and still getting a fluid 60 FPS in AVP on 1920x1080 2x AA 4xAF tessellation on and what not and it hasn't skipped a beat.

Yup. the framerates are fine, i just put my 5970 into my mates 920 4ghz rig and i got quite a bit more FPS.

1055T is fine even at stock for 6870s, but you'll see a small increase on a new chip.

Once you run a 3D app the second card will sort itself out, Run GPU Z with the sensors tab open and check the second card. It will say 100% load.
Then run Furmark on the benchmark then check out the usage of the second card it will drop back down to 0% once the benchmark is finished.

Also I just discovered, that CCC lies about the usage. I checked the sensors in GPUz and it reads 0% load for both cards, also another point every time you set something in Trixx and apply it, it turns off manual fan control in CCC so you need to turn that back on in.
Other than that it's all smoke and mirrors about the load on the GPU.
Yeah, the load drops off just fine, but the frequency remains at the OC speed instead of dropping to 300Mhz at idle.

I see what you are saying, but I play with Vsync on, on a 60Hz monitor so it's not a huge issue if you are capped at 60FPS.
But in Furmark full screen on 1920x1080 with displacment mapping and post FX I am averaging 90 odd FPS.

Yeah the frequency will stay the same because you switched off the power saving feature, which in turn lowers the MHz of the GPU.

One card drops, one stays up.

i'm sorry for this stupid question..but what is ULPS stand for?
gpuz reading tell me that my crossfireX configuration had ULPS on.
did ULPS held back overclocking core way over 1000Mhz?

Yeah, it hold it back. Turn it off and you can clock past 1000Mhz. The downside is that one of the cards will run at 99% load all the time and also run at the OC'd frequency full time instead of dropping back to it's idle state.

so all i need to do is search for "EnableULPS" key on registry keys and changed the value to "0" , rite?
