Everything you need to know about the new version is here. Looking at a release date of Feb this year. I have used the trial version and i will admit it is god awful fast. Destroys cpu based transcoding any day of the week.

I currently have HT on, 4C/8T @ 4.8Ghz, 200Mhz more barely gives me any gains and pushes more heat and voltage in my system which is not really worth it. But yeah, kind of moronic to buy an i7 2600K and push it 5Ghz with HT off and then call it a golden cpu. Too true, 2600K's selling point is HT. But if you're going to keep the CPU for a while then you might as well get a 2600K, it's a better investment for the long run.

Remember all those people who said "OMG you don't need 4 cores, dual core is ENOUGH for gaming!" yeah the QuadCore was a bad investment right? Then you hear, "OMG this is BS! I need a QuadCore to play this game!" Bwhahahahaha!

how does this destroy cpu-based transcoding if they are also using the AVX instruction set of Sandy Bridge? I thought that is a major improvement? (I remember some wild benchmarks about AVX when SB came out).

the question is,does someone-apart from gamers again,
really needs a 5 ghz pc,if he has no use for ht;

for browsing,e-mailing or what

does intel and amd `s upcoming multicore platforms are useless?

the more the better

i`ve used gpu encoding cuda based soft already-lol

not to compare with high quality cpu encoding-so far

for browsing or emailing you are probably okay with a .5ghz PC.
