Thread Starter
so i have the asus gtx 460 1gb with the copper cooling. Im not impressed at all with this card compared to my 8800gt. I only got 13 000 performance vantage points, also in gpu-z the memory bandwith is only 90gb/s...i thought this card was suppose to be 117 gb/s???

How many vantage points did you get with your 8800 GT? And are you using the latest drivers?

yeah im using the most recent drivers from nvidia's website. I dont remember which points i got with the 8800 gt but this card is only saying 90 gb/s when it should say close to 120.

What are the GPU-Z clocks? On the second, sensors tab.

90GB/s? ***? what card are you using? the 768mb or the 1gb version?
My GTX 460 is getting 130GB/S.

If you have the 768mb version then the 90gb/s sounds right.
The 768mb gtx 460 has a 192bit bus width and less ROPs which means its throughput is lower than the 1gb version which has a 256bit bus width and more ROPs.

He's using the 1GB version, not the 768MB version. Something ain't right I suppose
post #9 of 13
A 768 at stock clocks 88.6GB/s. How much did you pay for it? Would be the next. Also might be gpu z ver too? question, maybe some one made a mis take. Big difference $$$
the 768 =$159

no i payed 220 together with gst and all. The box was sealed, it is supposdly the 1gb version. Im thinking it was the power supply because my old 8800 gt died on me and would not post. My computer worked for day than back to motherboard looping, bought a new power supply still same issue. Its either the mobo or processor. At any rate im stuck with only 5 days left to return this card not being able to know if its been mislabeled.

Is there any way just by looking a the card? Also can a bad PS restrict card performance?

here is where i bought it
