i7 870 problem

Hi! i buy today i7 870! i have asus maximus 3 formula motherboard! before i have i5 750 and it work fine! After installing my i7 870, in bios and in cpuid it shows only 2 cores! what is wrong? thx and sorry for my bad english

Go into bios and make sure all the cores are enabled.

when HTT is off, it shows the four core, when HTT is on, only two!thx

first, what motherboard do you have?
Secondly, check CPU-Z to verify you have a 870

this is odd turning ht on or off in bios will not effect the no of cores shown in the bios although it would effect the cores/threads shown by the task manager......please recheck ur bios settings.....and reset cmos to see if all settings are at default.....
update bios and did u do a fresh windows reinstall on processor swap...if not try that too.....then check with cpu-z whether u actually have an i7 870 or not.......

and please fill in ur system in the signature so that members can help u better.....smile.gif
EDIT: one more thing have u checked the limit cpuid option in bios,make sure its disabled.....

solved! i reinstall the windows and all it is ok now! thanks to all give me advice!
