Sli Black Screen On Start UP

Ok

So i am using the sli patch / hack here

I did a reinstall of windows, got it installed, how ever when i try to boot in sli enabled windows mode with 2 gpus it just hangs on a black screen after showing the "loading Windows" part

I have tried the following drivers

257,s
260,s
265.90
266.68

All do the same thing,

How ever, if i try to boot in sli enabled windows mode with only 1 gpu in, it boots fine. I have tested both gpus, and they work fine.

Also i can boot in to normal windows with 2 gpus in, but it will not boot in "sli enabled windows mode"

Any ideas?

Cos im all out, and i have no idea what to do now

Cheers

i've done SLI GTS 250 before so i think i have some knowledge. tell me if i'm wrong.
most consumer motherboard only sends the video signal for the BIOS through only ONE PCI-E slot. usually it is the first one, the one closest to the CPU.
therefore if you want to modify the BIOS, you must connect your monitor to the graphics card that sit on the slot that the mobo sends the BIOS video signal to (the first one)

some people may prefer to connect their monitor to the 2nd or 3rd slot because that will make their 1st graphics card run cooler. but they won't be able to change the BIOS. (unless they're ninja enough to do it without seeing anything

dang because i fixed a similar issue on my machine ages ago when i had more then 1 HDD....

Try windows 7 SP1???

i have found it still works with the SLI patch...

and it solves alot of windows issues...

so it may fix the issue you are having... if it is a windows issue as well...

also make sure you have the latest chipset drivers

also try running the SLI boot without any Nvidia Drivers installed (driversweaper)

EDIT:

Latest BIOS?
