Any dell techs/experts? Screen upgrade question

Hey everyone,

I kind of have a specific question about the dell e6500 i have.
I purchased this mostly to have a mobile development machine, but the screen is 1280x800, which i would prefer to have a high resolution.
Looking at the purchase, dell offers 3 screens 12x8, 14x9 19x16. The kicker is they have different lighting sources, ccfl vs led.

I'm wondering if anyone has upgraded a screen similar or can point me in a direction to research. Everything i've come across has been a deadend.

Input would be appreciated.

cheers.

I think it would be more economical to get a new monitor which suits the specifications you require.

I am not a tech but this is what you need to do:
1: What backlight does your original screen have?
2: Get a screen for your laptop that matches the backlight technology of your original screen
3: Make sure the connector in the back is the same as your connector

I had to replace the screen in my Dell 1545 and I had to find out between LCD and LED
