Crysis is not that big of a memory hog. All you have to do is get Virtual Box and run like 4 VM's of ubuntu that use 2gb of ram. Easy as pie.

The most RAM I ever use is around the 3GB mark, and that's when I'm playing games and listening to music at the same time.

I don't see any need to have 4 million tabs open in Firefox, 3 VM's running crap I don't need and games open when I'm not playing them.

I'm using 1.72GB now, 52 processes.

i run 24GB on my i7 920 and i sill get "windows is out of memory" errors processing a bunch of 21MP raw photos (panos, hdr, collages). the megapixel race in digital cameras isn't slowing down either =(
