Why would you use private mode on a PC only used by you?

Use an encrypted VMware image with LVM encryption on Linux through an encrypted offshore proxy, instead.

Ummmm ... I don't get it. I mean, I don't understand what they are even looking for? What could be there on the HDD that is any more incriminating that they could hope to find? He has already admitted to having cracked it and distributed it openly (which also seems to render the restraining order null and void of any effect also.) The practicality of the entire exercise is laughable. Even should they win a court case, they will not see any viable sum of money as a result since they guy simply doesn't have enough to make it worth their while even should they ruin him financially. Or if they should somehow make a criminal case out of it they will have succeeded in at most putting him in jail and I really don't see how that is feasible. What am I missing here?

Oh. I thought they already made the point that they were asshats back when they pulled LINUX from PS3's that people paid exorbitant amounts of $ for.

Just out of curiosity, this has all got me wondering if historically there has ever been an example of some company that was put out of business by piracy at all?

Dont understand how Sony can take his computer, or even his hard drive. Figure the judge would destroy it but with back ups, dosent make sense. Drug dealers and such can lose houses and cars to the states but havent heard of victems being able to take things form guility folks related to the crime.
