How should I paint this GTX 560?

Thread Starter
Well, I have not tried any Zotac products before, but I saw this Zotac GTX 560 Ti and was really struck with how it looks. Really cool design, in my opinion, but the yellow would not fit with my color scheme.

So I'm kicking around the idea of getting one of these, taking it apart, and spray painting the yellow parts to be white.

Should be pretty straight forward, right? Seems like it would only be a few screws, but I haven't done anything along these lines before. Simple enough?

What type of spray paint should I use? Any special steps involved?

This might be the tricky part, how can I paint those ports?

Thanks!

the mesh might be hard to pry apart from the plastic shroud, but it you can get apart then it would look pretty cool to paint that any color that would fit you scheme. I would personally leave the shroud that black color, if anything paint it matte black.

from the picture it looks like it uses the stock baseplate, with the special shroud sitting on top, so it should be pretty easy, similar to 470/480.

if you can get the mesh apart then you can just put painters tape covering the black shroud. I wouldn't even mess around painting the dvi ports, it would be way to complicated.

I think regular spray paint would work, except you might have to sand down the paint to get it stick, im not sure on that one. It would be a pretty sick looking graphics card if you could pull it off.

Put LED strips in it. Go nuts, in other words, with aesthetic mods

Take the mech off.Find some other mech and paint it whatever color your wanting. That way if it ever needs to be RMA'd you can just swope out the mech and keep the factory warranty,no one need to know

Yeh this will void the warranty because he will have to brake the thermal paste seal to access the screws for the mesh. Personally I would get a card that fits the colour scheme if thats what you're bothered about, maybe the PALIT ones are red? if reds what your after?
