i have a Intel X25-V 40gb im thinking of installing the new firmware has anyone tried it yet? whats it improving for the older firmware.

If the fixes in the readme are worth the risks, then have at it.

Not that there are many, however data loss is listed and as always with any firmware flash there is potential for bricking your device..

It will improve your 4K-64Thrd speeds in AS SSD Benchmark a bit.

This is what I get for not having a sata DVD writer. Stupid IDE → USB 2.0 wouldn't properly detect the .iso (or maybe it was a motherboard issue).

I have an X25-M 80GB, Since this latest FW update deals with SATA6, and I run mine on SATA3... I may forgo this one.

neweggs always have then on sale for like $16-$17 shipped

True but I rarely use optical drives. Heck, I sold mine a few months ago because they were gathering dust.

I did find a way to put the .iso files onto a USB stick and flash it that way.
