Thread Starter
how much power does it take to power 2 ati 5770? currently doing a new build needa noe how much power it needs and how much 6pins or 8pins it need for each card. also what's a good psu that will power those cards? i was thinking of corsair 750w psu, if it's enough. thanks (:

each one does 108 max/18 idle. so you'd be looking at 200 or so watts max.

Running them on my sig psu, no problems so far. I'd say 650w with a 80/85 efficiency should give you no problems. 750 has quite some headroom if you get a decent one.

Check my sig rig. A decent 550w is fine.

I have a single 5770. Im thinking of getting another to CF. What has been your FPS increase and would you do it again?

Depends on the game, some games see almost a 2x increase while others may not increase at all. I've really like my 5770's, I'll be holding onto them till their caps blow up years from now.

I have 5770's in CF at 1000 core/1408 mem both on a crappy 650w hec-x PSU. Been on that PSU for nearly a year.

I'm running two 5770's on an Antec NEO Eco 520 just fine.

You will need a quality 550 watt brandname power supply, with 2x 6 pin connectors.
