is there a way using windows 7, so that i can hide a drive partition so that programs can still read and write to it but it doesnt show up with all other drives, i want to do this as i have a seperate partition for music which i dont need to look through as i just use the library in windows media player.
can anybody please point me in the right direction of how to do this with wondows 7 or with freeware
thanks in advance
i've used it to hide partitions before. window should still be able to read/write to it because you are only removing the icon from the windows GUI. if it gives you problems accessing the drive, then you can use that same method to restore it.
1. Open Computer Management
2. Go to Disk Management
3. Shrink your existing partition and then create a new partition in the free space
4. Instead of mounting it with a Drive letter select to mount it under a directory
Using this I have two small drives mounted under program files for games and one under my documents.
