Funny because average fps mean that it goes higher and lower from that number. Q9550 @4ghz was hitting below 20fps =unplayable while playing metro2033. my 2600k @ 5ghz hits 51fps=playable in the same spot. I was not able to turn 8x aa on n Bc2 because i would get very bad frame drop even with 2 580gtx. It was smooth most of the time but then down to 30fps. Now i can turn all setting to max and no unplayable drops anywhere. It did makr a different in all my games.
Sandy help me acomplish what i was looking. Playing every game with a minimum fps of 50-60fps at all times.
Edit: i understand u having a q9550 and looking for an excuse that it wont make a different. If u can resale ur parts like i did now that they still holds a decent value, sell it. I upgraded not expecting much of a different but it was a HUGE different. Just so you know, my stock 2600k @ 3.4ghz still was alot faster than my 9550 @ 4GHZ.Edited by eduardmc - 1/30/11 at 10:30am
