Don't you know how forums work 90% of the time?

Usually -- Someone searches for a question, they find it and post in that thread.

People get on their arse for raising a dead topic.

Someone creates a NEW thread and asks the same question.

People get on their arse for making a NEW already asked question.

The way I see it, you're in either group A or group B. Ass or B*tch. Either way, you're F*cked

Whats the point of forums if no one asks questions due to it being previously discussed?

agree.

Your supposed to make a new thread for a question you have instead of bringing an old thread back to life.

1. it already has responses so people who look at thread will see many replies already and be declined to answer it.
2. many forums actually close threads when they have their questions answere because it is better for users to make their own threads.

Sorry op for people posting and not helping you on such a simple topic to discuss.
Reality it as long as you have a half decent thermal paste, it won't make much +-maybe 1C

Or you can do C.

Search for topic, read the posts that already solved your problem and post nothing...

When it comes down to it virtually all of these pastes are great.

http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.ph...&limitstart=12

They are all within less than 1 degree of each other.

Your choice of fan, fan speed, model of heatsink, case airflow etc. are all going to make a bigger difference than what thermal compound you choose out of this group.

Actually I did search this forum and look up on other few website about best thermal compounds, apparently every one has different result and comment about it.

Your telling me basically not to post about something which already been answer many times in this forum...

so tell me something why is there forum for ?

if you can't discuss something related to computer in forum, I don't think overclock.com won't even exist in first place

I just don't feel that this deserves ANOTHER new thread. It literally gets asked almost every day in a new thread. I've helped people find the best thermal paste like 20 times.

I linked the link I always show everybody, a test of 80 thermal compounds. Take your pick. The best compounds are all so close in performance that other factors like your ability to apply them properly, heatsink, fans, fan speed, case airflow, ambient room temperature ETC. are going to matter more than what compound you pick out of those top 15 or so compounds.

if you read my post you should notice I ask for best thermal grease available right now in market and the link you post its almost two year old.

I WAS ASKING FOR BEST THERMAL GREASE, I wasn't asking if my case has air flow or not, or which fan to buy or heatsink.

thanks for your help though.

I get annoyed at "What's the best <anything>" threads. There is no right answer to this. All that happens is people post, subjectively, based on what they have used or are currently using. Very rarely do people post "Why" the thing is "best". I just don't find these threads very helpful. The other thing is, the most popular is not always the best. If it were, I'd own an iPhone...lol

Anyway, I use MX-4 because it has a good consistency and spreads very well under pressure from the heatsink. It is non-conductive. There is no "curing" time. And my temps are great.

Mx-2 Mx-4 AS5 Shin Estu. At most 2c different temps. Well within a margin of error. Just get whatever is cheapest..

Indigo Extreme is the best for temps, but it is not cheap and you get 2 chances.

It's 2c cooler than Mx-2 on 775.

Here is mx-2 vs indigo extreme
