Agreed. Also makes swapping hard drives alot easier, which I must do sometime soon.
Well this says other wise.

Really? In a thread about PS3 save files being saved in a central location to ease hard drive swaps, buying a new console, or playing in other locations you bring up IBM, social security, ponzi schemes, internet rates, and hard drive speeds? You didn't bring up a single thing actually relating to the article or topic.

A save file is MAYBE 10mb which you'll use in 2 minutes on any wallpaper website. I'd also assume that save files will still be kept locally as they are so small and only synced online for the aforementioned situations.

Problems reading? If you're going to try to correct a person, especially if you provide a link, read the link first.

We're hearing that new custom firmware isn't on the table quite yet, because Sony changed most of the locks, and is reportedly actually storing the all-important ECDSA private key with random-number cryptography this time around. Be warned: if you upgrade to 3.56, there's no easy way back down. In related news, Github complied with a DMCA takedown notice to remove KaKaRoToKS's repositories, so you'll have to head on over to Gitorious (at our more coverage link) to get at the fail0verflow tools.
And trust me - that Update: part was there before you posted. I would know considering I came from that very same article into this thread.

KaKaRoToKS says it'll take awhile to get past it, so he's not gonna bother with it. At least not yet.

well...they have to make PSN + look like a good thing
What I wonder is about the games that has the saves locked to a damn single console. I hate that.
I have a 4gb flash drive on my keychain and I sometimes move my saves to it or to my phone when I go to friends house to play, but having a save locked to a single console sucks.
It happened it GT5 and I was fuming, lucky they listened and the saves are movable now.

I think it is a great way to store save files assuming copy protected will work.

I will cry if I EVER lose GT5 data, Disgaea 3, or (insert ridicous hard or long game here).
