Is my upgrade enough? - Page 2

if you ask me your processor is perfectly fine for any game, you do not need the new cpu or new cooler, just get better graphic card, i recommend 6870, and save the money till you need new upgrade, which won't be for a while. unless spending your money on a new cpu you could get new monitor with higher resolution, and with that athlon you have and 6870 you will not have any problem playing games on high and higher resolution, if you ask me getting new processor is a complette and utter waste of money.
Oh, and one more important thing i almost forgot to say, get at least one more gigabyte of ddr2, you will see the difference in games.

Thanks from all of you.As i undrestand my cpu is enough.
The fact is it do better than 965 (at stock clocks)in all benchmarkes and achives +46 gfopls in sis sandra. But in my mind 4 GHz is a gold standard!Anyway if i go for anything higher than 6850 then my power is the problem. My current psu is AC BEL 550 that has only one six pin connector and as i now 6870 needs two.So how about i go for 6870 and a new power insted of cpu?
Whcih psu you recommend?
And about monitor me personally really dont need more.Cause 1280x1024 is already very nice(compared to 720 of Xbox 360 and PS3).

1st of all , anything highter then 5770 is already a waste for 1280x1024 resolution , with 5770 you can already max out any game on 1600x1080 reso (except crysis and metro)
2nd your psu is something you should change ASAP since you already running an overclocked system u gonna need to change into something more reliable , stable and efficient like Antec\\XFX\\Corsair\\Seasonic

i'd say 6870, and OC, or better yet 6950 1GB.

my rig has the same general requirements as you, and a slightly lower res. i aim to play games at the same settings, and i find that i'm not happy with my Crysis performance as i tend to often be at 30FPS on Very High with 4xAA. Napoleon Total War also is smooth, but tends to stay too close to 30FPS with all the bells and whistles cranked up. i aim for highest settings ingame, though. if you're OK with going with medium, the 6950 will work

and i have a highly clocked 460 which is closer to a 470...
