That makes it somehwat easier to engineer in some respects. But these things have to be far more heat resistant, and the EE has to fit everything into a very, very small package. I'd say quality matters as much or more.



I can't confirm anything, but I've suspected it as the cause of hardware failure in several instances. Usually cheap third-party chargers bought off ebay.
Yea, i guess. Just seems like a laptop charger is doing a single job so they don't have to worry about outputs and rails and all that for multiple voltages and such. know what i mean.

Like when you go to the store to get a 12volt wall plug thing, you pretty much just buy one, you don't look at which company makes the best one.

I discuss so i can learn.

I have actually learned a lot about what to look for in a PSU from you.

Single output just simplifies the secondary side, which can make things a lot easier, but you still have the issue of heat + cheap components equaling failure. Plus there are a lot of electrical engineers who just aren't that good at designing power supplies, regardless of how many outputs they have to provide.


And I understand, we're just discussing.
