Who said something about a big CRT!? Is a White IBM too? Maybe a P260?

Very nice work! I like how it started out as a project and ended up being your primary PC. I like how you dressed things up on the software side to represent the older Windows and such too. I wouldn't want to do it with my primary PC personally, but I've always had the idea of taking my old Dell Dimension 4100 and retrofitting it with more. One of my girl friends thinks her somewhat new OEM is better than mine because it's newer. It'd be funny to show her up with a seemingly old and innocent White vintage case Dell.

The screen is something else, not IBM but I do have and sometimes still use the original 17" IBM CRT.
I don't keep the icons and theme for normal use, just for LAN parties and show etc. At home by myself I use the standard Win 7 theme (non-aero).
It works really well as my main PC, fits on my desk way better than my old K62 and is just as quiet even when the case fans on the K62 were all off.

Ha that's sweet, I could put WCing in this, just a single 120mm rad in the front there but like I said it runs damn cool already. Once I get the i3 2120 it will be twice as fast as the Athlon yet still as cool running!

Are the pics on page 3 tiny to everyone else?
Like 5cm big kinda thing?
Cause on my PC in both this forum, on OCAU and on the actual image hosting site, they are all really small, but not for my mate. They should be about 1024x680 but for me they are like 200x150

Very nice! Rep+

I also have lots of old gear, but with actual old gear inside LOLOL Maybe one day I'll have the patience to do something nice like you did.

Very clever and nice idea to put all the Windows nostalgia thing going.

If you need any more nostalgia wallpapers click here for my Windows 3.1 and 95 /95 Plus Pack wallpapers.

Have you already installed DosBox ? Oh, and don't forget to install a nice front end. I use DoSShell, which makes it super easy to add games to the library. It's like Steam for DOS lololol.

Yes they are. Create an account on Photobucket, it's very easy to upload photos and you can then insert them here with ease.

Thanks, yeah I have a boatload of old gear, just sort of collect it. No point selling it, not worth anything but it's fun to play with old stuff and as it turned out this old case is amazing.

Ta for the walls, will save some of them, reminds me of Windows 95/98

I have a few old DOS games I sometimes play, all running through DOS Box, but I have a separate project going as a proper DOS gaming machine so haven't bothered too much on this build.

So, a proper DOS gaming machine ? I'll be waiting to see that! What kind of specs will the machine have ? Oh, and post photos! I'll keep looking into this thread for your news update "New work log - DOS gaming machine"

Well not 100% decided yet but I have a lot to play with. Lot's of old things, mobos, RAM, cases, monitors etc.

Firstly I will be concentrating on a dual CPU pentium 3 box after I go to i3 on my sleeper PC. It will be a pimped out build with all the old school bits of bling like multicolored LED fans, UV sleeving, cathodes, custom fan grills, loud 10,000rpm drives, flashy CPU coolers (for a P3 at any rate) etc.

That could be used as a DOS box but might be too modern....don't know. I know I will be using it for games like Half-Life, CS 1.6, CoD1/2, AOE 1/2, WC3, StarCraft etc in old school gaming parties at the very least.

DOS games can be run on basically anything though so may as well use it for them too since it is meant to be a build for the old school LAN gamer days. Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Wolfenstein, Descent etc will all be played on that one machine alongside the newer late 1990's to early 2000's games until I finish a full on DOS machine.
