Multiplier and core speed drop even during prime 95

Thread Starter
I have disabled all the power saving options, but it still drops. i am still running prime 95 on i5 750 with a overclock of 3.7ghz and it would drop to 1.6ghz and a multiplier of x9.0. Could this mean an unstable overclock? or is their a feature that I have forgot to disable?

it is most likely a power saving feature.

make sure in the control panel under power options your computer is set to high performance.

It still drops, could it be vdroop? I have LLC disabled because I heard it can cause voltage spikes

If you use your pc in such a way where a near 100% cpu utilization happens pretty often (like most of us these days), you should not disable LLC.

I think its C1E that needs to be disabled to stop that if I recall correctly. Enable LLC.

Is your windows 7 power option set to "high performance" ?
If not, set it. Then select "change plan settings" , go to advanced settings, under processor power management change the three settings to "100%", "active", "100%" . See if it solves the problem.

It was already set to high performance.
