5970 getting BSOD on any driver version

I don't know if its just me but I think my 5970 is on its way out or I could just be doing something wrong here. Just recently I've had a problem where anytime I start up my computer it would load fine up until windows where it would crash and just go in a restart loop.

I was able to pinpoint it to the video drivers. So I ran driversweeper in safe mode and was able to get into windows to uninstall whatever else was left of CCC. After trying to install the drivers again same thing happens, boot into windows and everything crashes and I get a pop up message saying the "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered".

I've literally tried everything that I could think either by installing drivers 10.5 up to until the 11.1 and having to use driversweeper after installing each driver cause it would just crash. I even reinstalled windows 7 and even then the problem is still happening. I've never had this problem before so I'm just confused on what exactly is going on?

Sounds like the card, I'd go for an RMA.

Just my observation.... I see a lot of this type of problem associated with the use of Driversweeper. If you perform backups reguarly, I would try a fresh OS install first before assuming you need to send your card off to boot camp and have to sit all alone missing it.

What blue screen specifically? Is your 920 OC'd?

My 920 is oc'd to 4.0ghz but I put it back to stock for now to see if that was the problem. I'm doing a fresh install of windows 7 and I'll see what exactly the BSOD says once I Install the video drivers.

Edit: Just installed the video drivers and everything was good for a second and right away I'm getting the popup message saying "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" over and over again. I'm also getting crazy artifacts every second or two. I think I might as well send it in for an RMA.

Yep, RMA sounds like the right choice.

Yes RMA that card. I just sent back my 5850 replacement. I really think this could have been avoided by not using Driver Sweeper. I have nothing against DS it's just a little risky using some 3rd party software! I won't use that software again.
