Thinking of returning my Asus P8P67 Pro

Thread Starter
After hearing such horrible experiences and it seems there are a lot of issues with this motherboard. P8P67 owners, are you happy with this board so far?
Maybe it probably has something to do with adapting new technology early so I guess I should hold on to my build and wait for a solid board. eVGA I'm looking at you.

I have a P8P67 PRO and it's run perfectly fine from day one. You have to think about it like this, the majority of people who posts problems or come on the forums looking for answers are the minority. Everyone else just goes about there business.

Just my 2 cents.

If you take a look at the reviews on Newegg 30% of them gave it 2 eggs or less. Completely unacceptable in my opinion when many consider Asus to be the best in motherboards.

I know people have been having issues but mine seems to be doing just fine. No issues at all have hit me yet.

I'm running the Deluxe on bios 1253(haven't felt the need for 1204).

It is kinda sad hearing about how many people do seem to be having issues. But if you're not having any issues I don't see a reason to give it up, however if you are having issues then yea return it.

asus released there line of p67 boards before they were fully 100% stable. there is just too much untested new technology on these boards.

i will be buying the evga p67 sli or the gigabyte ud4. Waiting for evga to release there boards before i make a decision.

evga may not have all the newest technology on there boards, but they are reliable, have great qc, and ALL there features work.

alot of people rag on evga saying they are nothing special, but i have yet to have a single problem with any evga board.

gigabyte is another on. i like gigabyte boards. they make great overclockers, my only concern with gigabyte is that some of there bios features are buggy. Previous gigabyte p55 boards had problems with turbo and other advanced cpu features and i have been reading the same about there p67 boards.

bottom line, if you want a stable sandy bridge rig, you should wait and let the technology mature. this is always the case when a new platform comes out. p67 happens to be exceptionally bad as it introduced a plethora of new technology. the main one being the bios replacement.

Thank you all for your inputs, I know some of you don't have or run into any problem with the Asus board but as I did mention, browsing around many enthusiasts' forums and getting such awful stories about this particular board make me overwhelmed.
I just got it 2 weeks ago and haven't used it yet so I don't know if I should keep it or not, I have 2 more weeks to get my refund and wait for other vendors to release their boards like eVGA. Don't get me wrong, I use mostly Asus and recently eVGA and never have any problems with them but hearing such stories just make me a bit scared.

To be honest, evga's boards are just okay, they aren't great. I sure wouldn't take an evga board over a gigabyte board, that is for sure.

But video cards on the other hand...

yea EVGA lost a huge chunk of their mobo team, the team that created the classified is gone for sure, maybe partly there, but you aren't going to see a knock out board from them anytime soon.

Are you using it now? Can you return it if you use it and it has problems?

I bought mine from MC and it had the cold boot issue. I was able to return it and get store credit. But if you can't do that, I wouldn't risk it when it seems like 30%~ of the people are having problems.
