MSI GeForce GTX465 advice.

Thread Starter
I'm deciding whether to buy an MSI GTX465 GE card to complement my existing normal MSI GTX465 into an SLI setup. I was actually thinking of selling the GTX465 I have and buy a GTX570 from MSI with the TwinFrozr II on 'er... but damn, that GE label sure is BLING!!!

I was really lucky to find the MSI GTX465 GE on the market for about 215 USD (I live in Korea and this is a rough currency exchange calculation) and actually, I don't even know if this is a good price.

I play CoD4:MW2, SC2, CoD:BO, BFBC2, and plan on getting other titles that fit within this graphic cards range but... I REALLY wanted to play Metro 2033 which is why I wanted to opt for the GTX570 plan that will run it smoothly.

So, I guess what I'm asking for is some advices considering whether it is a good investment now and later go for future graphic cards that will definitely run Metro 2033 without insane price ranges.

I got to give the seller a call tomorrow first thing in the morning so... any good advice now would be greatly appreciated. (I just can't get my eyes off that shiny HS o_O)

Thanks in advance!

I'm confused ... the Hawk edition is a 460, not a 465. So do you already have a 465 Golden Edition, and if so, did you unlock it to a 470?

If so, I'd get another one of those (we can be twinsies ). You already have the board for it, your PSU should be fine, and two unlocked 465's will destroy any single card setup. Mine run Metro just fine maxed (no DoF which I don't like anyways) at 1920x1200.

Ahhghh I completely confused the name with MSI's ATI naming.. I meant a normal MSI GTX465 TwinFrozr II edition ^^;; forget the Hawk.

OK, I think I need to completely re-edit the first post T_T

I'm going to buy a MSI GTX465 GE and was originally planning on just running the two 465s in SLI since I know my non-GE can't unlock...

I actually posted this question in a MSI GTX465 Golden Edition Owner's Club thread and one of the guys gave me some really good advices so I'm going to ask the dealer whether the 465 GE is unlockable and if it is, I'm going to sell my normal 465 and buy a real 470 for an SLI setup.

It's also good to hear that you can run at max settings at that resolution! Thanks for telling me! It's really comforting to know.
