Antec 1200 V3, Finally an Antec case with cable management? - Page 2

Other than usb 3.0 and something about an SSD I dont really see how this is different. No, Antec still doesn't give a crap about cable management, thats what modding is for - bust out the hole saw devil-smiley-019.gif

You cannot see all those cable management holes in there now? The inside of the case looks like Swiss cheese.

Looks nearly the same to my original Antec 1200 except a couple bigger wholes, mainly the PSU area.

They added more rooom for more wires and that's about it. They really didn't 'improve it' by helping you cable manage, just provided you MORE cable leeway

As compared to the previous version 1200 the only thing I really see is that they made the bottom hole taller. What they needed to do is extend the hole closer to the psu like I did on my 900. Its all about placement, not size or quantity.

No, it's not the first. Antec made the P182, P183, p180 mini and the P193, all of which were ahead of their time and all of which had very nice features AND cable management.

Antec has since abandoned this line and refused to make it any better, instead re-hashing their 300,900, and 1200 cases that are complete and total crap.

FYI, Antec's official response is that even with just that small space, the correct way to mount a PSU in the Antec1200 is with the fan facing down.
However, in the same post, they did mention that mounting it with the fan upwards will not harm your system or the psu.
Just make sure you don't drop anything small by accident through the top mounted case fan that falls down into the psu.......

I can't find the post on Antec's site. But I do recall reading up on that and seeing a Antec poster's answer.

if you look at the new model it has larget holes for cables, but the problem is the space in the back, there is just not enoguth distance between the mobo tray and the back panel, if u have a lot of wires then the panel bubbles up, no good

I bought this case to build my brother a computer. I'm a tech but this is the first case I have ever used that has given me such problems installing a standard 3.5 Hard drive. I probably should have started a new thread but since Rushmore has this case, I thought I might get an answer. Please help. I've been working on this for two days, and the manual is lacking some info.

Hey I used to own a Antec nine-hundred and they arent half bad, it's just that it isn't tool-less nor cable-management friendly. Modding is the way to go with these cases, and this is a great way to kill time smile.gif
