If you insist on having "Gaming headset" then get a Sennheiser PC 350 but Audio Technica AD700 + any clip-on mic (zalman zm-mic1) will be superior to almost every other option in soundstage and audio quality both.

If you have no price restrictions you should also get a better source (sound card). Look into an ASUS Xonar series card.

$150 has 7.1 virtual (but it sounds good), great build quality, great aesthetics and, very comfortable

I can provide pics and stuff if you want.

EDIT: They don't have that great of a rating on newegg, but I don't even bother looking at reviews there anymore. A lot of the reviews (especially for the headset) is filled with bias and user error
