asus crosshair IV mobo question pls..?

Thread Starter
hey everyone here are my specs

AMD Phenom II 1055T Six Core Processor oc to 3.26ghz was done in bios.
-ASUS crosshair IV mobo
-evga gtx 580 oc edition video card
-12gb ddr3 memory
-windows 7 home premium 64 bit
-cool master 922 case
-corsair 750w power supply with 80 plus
-22 inch benq led monitor
i wanted to ask my friend helped me oc my cpu to 3.26ghz but i am not noticing a differance that much. i know on the mobo there is a button thats says oc , just wanted to know is it better if i press that to oc compared to what my friend did which is at 3.26ghz...will it be higher?
also if it is safe when do i press the button before i boot the computer...sorry i am still learning this mobo and a bit nervous to press the oc and start button and when i keep it on during that time is that when it stays oc until i reboot again??

also how is windows 7 home premium 64 bit for games like crysis, metro 2033..etc....i am coming from windows vista thats why

thanks

1) About that Oc Button, I dont much care for it. Ive had my cpu running @ 4.2ghz before and hit it accidentally instead of the reset switch, I booted into a bios reading 4.5ghz. It also uses way to high of voltages.

2) That's a lousy oc for a 1055t UNLESS you're still using the stock Heatsink, if you have a few bucks get a Hyper 212+ or a scythe Muggen 2. A 1055t can hit 4ghz on a decent air cooler. Since its a locked multi & 12gb of ram it may be slightly tricky, Pm me if you want help oc'ing a bit more.

3) Windows 7 and vista both support direct x 11, there's basically no difference in gaming on a well preforming pc.
