What was I thinking...I got BF2 deluxe and...

Yeah, on steam not even on sale and I played a couple sp matches but I thought there was a campaign mode somewhere but I guess not. So only about 12 maps is not very exciting on sp.

1)So is there a texture overhaul mod or lighting improvements anywhere?
2)Anything that could improve the sp experience but not overhaul the whole game? (I checked popular sites, could not find)
3)Advice for mp at this time? I know it's old now but maybe you could tell me servers to avoid or what to look for in a good server.

thanks

**** thought you where talking about BFBC2. Well as far as I know BF2 has no texture/lighting mods. Its a fun game but I find infantry only servers a lot better. In Mp your going to get owned a lot until you get used to the game play style and all that. Just watch for dolphin diving and always try and stay with your squad. Not a game you can go rambo in for the most part. Look into gun upgrades and don't just blow an upgrade on a worthless weapon. If you bought the deluxe you should be able to unlock the f2000 http://boards.ign.com/battlefield_2/...46/r108026543/
P.S. Ranking up tends to take a while.

So that'd be something worth looking into. But when I was playing BF2 I pulled this stunt and found it interesting haha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQ3z0VY4Ays
He is asking about Battlefield 2, not Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Battlefield 2 is a dedicated multiplayer game, it does not have a single player campaign or story.

It does have a few small single player maps but they are in there mostly for practice for multiplayer.

Usually the TV2 servers are good. I would advise you to practice heli's and jets on a 64 player map when nobody is on the server.

I just sort the servers by how many people are on the server and usually join when it's from 55-63 on a 64 map when I want to use vehicles. For just infantry I play special forces mostly.

Project Reality is a big mod, trying to make Battlefield 2 more realistic but the gameplay is slow compared to regular Battlefield 2.

Their are many mods out there for Battlefield 2, but most of them just change the gameplay, cars, guns and vehicles around.

Thanks good info. Trying to take a break from BC2 by going further back I think. Online is a bit addictive and I've never really been into it. Maybe it's the blowing stuff up part.

Yeah, I have that, lots of time in it. Looking for a change is all, as soon as I get my next Medic weapon...hopefully anyway.

There are tons of custom maps, also there is the AIX mod, which completely changes the kits and has it's own set of custom maps/vehicles. That is a pretty good sized mod. As mentioned Project Reality (PR) is a pretty different experience from vanilla, and might be something to try out.

BF2 is mostly just a mp game though, you can run through the maps in sp but that is only fun so many times (although good for practice). I recommend a joystick for planes, not necessary for choppers but handy.

I play almost exclusively on co-op servers, [TEAM] are some of the best for that.

BF2 is 100x better. Probably because it isn't another console port.
