Gigabyte P67A Questions

Currently running bios F6d on a P67A-UD5 - I'm generally very pleased with the board, but I do have a few random questions/concerns.

1. Memory: slots 1 & 3, or slots 2 & 4? Anybody had luck overclocking memory on the Gigabyte boards?

2. Has anybody figured out why the Gigabyte boards dual boot and then reset the multiplier after being unplugged or having new hardware installed? I'm really freaking tired of this 'boot failures because of overclocking' error. The board craps itself halfway through post twice before finally rebooting again and making it into windows, but not without resetting the multiplier to 3.4GHz. I'm really hoping Gigabyte releases a newer more stable bios VERY soon. I check every day.

3. How do I ensure my CPU is not throttling? At 5.0GHz with HT Off, Realtemp 3.67 shows my CPU using around 105W. Is that about right?

4. Now that I've settled on a pretty stable 24/7 overclock, what are the bios settings to enable turbo? I would like my CPU to operate at 3.4GHz while idle, but immediately jump to 5.0GHz when in use.

1. I have had luck with 2133mhz 1,5v dimm, 1.1v qpi corsair dominators

2. you can save BIOS by pressing f11 or press f12 to load it.

3. realtemp wont be able to give you the correct wattage no program will. you can tell if its throttling cpu-z will show downclock, keep temps below 90c and its not throttling.

4. Enable turbo or enable c1e, eist, c states, i have had luck with them. If you want vcore to drop down use the dvid addition of vcore increments under vocre setting. or leave vcore on auto.

Alright Sin, I enabled C1E and C3/C6 and that did the trick. I thought it would idle at 3.4GHz since that's what I set the multiplier to, but rather it idles at 1.6GHz. Which is fine, just not what I expected. I also don't know what you mean by dvid to drop voltage while idle. I don't see that option in the bios.

The real matter at hand, and I mean my only real frustration with this board is memory overclocking. Here's my current bios settings. My memory is Corsair XMS3 DDR3 2000 (9-10-9-27) and all I want to do is run it at 2133MHz with stock timings. I've tried Vdram of 1.66 and even 2t command rate, but no matter what I do I get BSOD right before getting into windows. Any advice? Does this seem to be a problem with the Gigabyte boards in general? Am I just going to have to wait for a better bios revision?
