New HTPC setup planned.

Hello guys!

I'm on the verge of purchasing a new HTPC build for my living room atm and I've got a couple of things I'm wondering about..
First off, here's the planned build:
case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ntec%20isk-310
mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...28448&Tpk=h55n
cpu: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-221-_-Product
ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145278
os drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=corsair%20f40

Yes, I know, there isn't a tuner or anything like that in there, simply because I've got absolutely no use for it, everything I watch is streamed from my server.
I plan on getting win7 for it and setting up xbmc, since it will mostly be used for watching movies and then stream some sports through sopcast.

I'm wondering if I should go for this setup, or wait for http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=xC1GPgvnP5unUCNB and go for an i5 2300, the obvious gains would be integrated wifi and bluetooth on the asus(I plan on getting a logitech dinovo mini).

How is the IGP on the new 1155 procs compared to the one on the i3 540?
Anyone got any experience with this case? From a review I read it looks pretty cramped, but I should have less of a problem since I dont plan on using a ODD.
Should I try to get an aftermarket cooler or am I better off sticking with the stock one?
Has anyone heard anything about a release date on the asus itx board?

first of all you wont need a utlra high end board just for a HTPC, i think a lower end one will do fine, budget. as for case and stuff its up do you its your lounge. the SSD is alright, dont plan on putting anything more than just a installation of windows because thats all your going to get. onboard graphics on the SB is pretty decent you could invest in a gpu but it all is up to you, it personally get a dedicated graphics card just to improve graphics a little bit but it isnt a must.

You might wanna go with mATX boards instead, there are more case options, I would recommend this case if you have the space:

Looks like you have quite a bit of budget for this build, this is something I built for $400. For low end builds, AMD will have more bang for your buck. On-board graphics should be plenty. SSD is excessive for a HTPC build but it does increase boot times.

yes selecting a mATX case is best for HTPCs. i recommend using on as it saves space and doesnt look bulky in lounges

Wow I considered that one, but I went with Antec because it has a better power supply. I settled for the silver one, I really wanted black...

Thanks for the suggestions, but how is a µatx case better than a mini itx case for saving space?

I'd really like to keep it as small as possible, and preferably as silent as possible, that's why I've went for this case, and plan on getting 2x 80mm tacens fans(12db/20cfm)

Reasons for going 1156/thinking about going 1155, is that I want to keep this build as long as possible without having to upgrade.

Would I actually be seeing an improvement in picture quality by going for a dedicated graphics card over the igp on the 1156/1155?

I'm pretty much decided on the case, what I'm wondering about is whether I should wait for the 1155 mini-itx MBs or if it won't be worth it, seeing as they'll probably be more expensive..

Would I see a noticeable difference between 1155 and 1156? I'm pretty sure the setup I've chosen so far(i3-540+h55n-usb3) will maul through 1080p material with ease anyways..
