MSI Cyclone GTX 460 1GB + EVGA GTX 460 SLI 1GB

Thread Starter
I snagged a used EVGA GTX 460 1GB off somone for 70 bucks this morning, hoping to go SLI, however; I'm not sure if different SLI is possible when the cards are from different vendors. Not only that, I currently have a Corsair 550W PSU(it's the old brand before gamer and professional) and was wondering if it's possible to use it temporarily until I can get a new PSU. I will keep my CPU at 4Ghz and both cards at stock settings.

now where did you get THAT from?
on nvidia website, they listed 460 as 160w TDP and 480 as 250watt TDP. 160*2 is 320. yea i know SLI doesn't stress cards out that much, but it's still far from 480's number.
SLI 460 should consume more power than 480

i think the PSU should be barely enough. do not overclock your cards in anyway.

um... there was many reviews that showed this.....

it was one of the main reason why people got 2x460s over a 480....

or atleast that is what i was lead to believe...

The 460s do use more power than a 480 in stress tests, but not gaming.
