Hard drive noises, please help.

Hello.

You know the regular typical hard drive noise, the ticking sound which the hard drive does everytime it loads something.

I have today experienced that these sounds are pretty high, I can hear them from a distance of 1 meters (3 foot) quiet well (computer same level as my head, on my desk that would be), and it annoys me.

Is it normal for hard drives to sound this much or should I be worried?

Any way to find out?

I have a samsung spinpoint f3 and an Antec 300 case.

thanks in advance

It's the regular read/write sound but it's quiet high, so I wanted to know if the loudness I described is normal or not.

Can you hear it well when you have your head 3 feet from your case?

thanks
