I plan on getting an msi gtx 460 768mb twin frozr to play at generally 1600x1000 or 1900x1200 on some games.. is there much of a difference between 1gb and 768mb if youre playing a little below max?

The difference won't be noticeable till very high resolutions. 1920x1200 and upwards.

We have a whole section called "Unanswered Threads", I frequent that area often as does many other members. Your question will be gotten to. Just give us time ..
Anyways, IMO at any resolution above 1680x1050 your gonna need 1 gb...
It is not required tho, 768 mb is no slouch. Just at those higher resolutions, that extra VRam helps..

The higher the resolution you play at the more VRam you're going to need and use for 1900X1200 I'd seriously recommend a 1GB card. Even if your gaming on 1650X1050 I'd just get the 1GB regardless of resolution, VRam also helps in fact of AA and AF increasing both of these will take chunks of VRam as well.

iknow the 1gb is better, but ive looked at benchmarks and game play videos and its not THAT much of a difference for nearly 60-80 price difference. money dont grow on trees i was just doin some checking that is all.. what if there was 0 AA on 1900x1200 would it be fine? or is the vram usage still high on that res with newer games even without AA on

games will use more and more VRAM....

it is just the way of things...

so the more the have... the better you will b off in the future....

hence why i still prefer a 480 over a 570...
