Basically when you run out of vram by any considerable margin (this usually happens when the app wants about 10% more than you've got), you end up with an unplayable slideshow.

Having more memory than you need for the particular situation is entirely useless (although the 1GB card also has more ROP's and bandwidth, so that comes into play), but if you DON'T have enough, it's like a night/day drop in performance that occurs.

The 768MB card is fine for *most* games at resolutions up to 1920x1200, esp. at lower levels of AA. But there's a couple out there (Metro for example) where you may end up having to drop res to get it to run as well as the 1GB card.

If I was on a serious budget, given the price diff, I'd get the 768MB version, esp. if it's always only going to be a single card setup.

kk.. im thinking of waiting a few months... mainly cause i just got this computer and after the school year ends my dad will prob buy it for me... and at the time it will be cheaper.. for the 1gb model preferably the cyclone or hawk talon attack.. which do you think is better?
