Low end computer for starcraft

Thread Starter
My friend has been wanting to play sc2 for quite sometime, but his computer is pretty low and lags on low graphics settings. I've been trying to help him get some upgrades, but I'm not really sure what graphics card he should get.
He has a HP Pavilion p6250t. I figure he needs a new power supply if he wants a decent card, and I know his cpu is probably fine, but idk what card, any suggestions?

Ya, he's kind of on a super budget, and can really only buy a card for maybe around $70. Sorry I didn't mention that.

So he needs a PSU and a card for 70 bucks, better start digging deep in used parts

Nope, doubtful. If he's looking at that, he could try and nab a 9800 gx2 for 85 which would be great, or a 9800 gtx or an 8800 gtx for 50 all off of ocn. THat's about the only thing that could do for his graphics card on that budget. Which, 8800's are pretty easy to get off of here, so thats a plus as a lot of folders are moving up from them to 560's or something.

I don't think his mobo even has PCI express 2.0 X16 slots...

Which processor does he have? How much RAM?

You can find a used 8800gt for ~$40-$50 which can probably play on medium-high settings.
