You could mount a static home directory once the livecd is running. On the f@h thing: Just to state this that as of right now it would be against the f@h TOS to include it or an installer with the liveCD. This may or may not change in the future once I get in contact with Stanford.

unfortunately, the bootloader is rather hard to install.

are you serious? lol

I've spent the last few hours working on a installer script, that can be used on all linux distro's, so people will stop following those outdated ubuntu guides!

Its so someone can't package something else with their software and make people think that they are affiliated, so yes, Berkeley would also probably have that restriction. Honestly, if I were developing software like that for a well known university, I would do the same thing licensing-wise.

I would gladly help you test out the script, I have a USB 3 Thumbdrive set to bootable to install OS's and a SSD. So it seems that your install script is a perfect idea, all you need to do is get permission to have your script download the latest copy from Stanford, I'm sure if you asked nicely and linked them here so they can see how much folding we actually do, they would gladly allow it.

Let's not focus too much on f@h for the moment. Even though it is an integral part of our community, the focus of the distro is to provide tools to assist when overclocking.

Agreed. As long as it is able to be easily added later if wanted.

My priorities for OCNix are

1. Overclocking
2. Stability
3. Lightweight for benching
4. Folding/crunching
5. Temperature and system monitoring

Sorry if in wrong thread. And thanks for all you are doing Xtascox. Wish I knew enough to help.
