This might just be a personal thing, but we don't need better graphics in games - they've gone far enough (indeed too far) with the level of physical interaction that we have with the game world. We already have graphics that are essentially photorealistic - problem is, that only makes for a nice screenshot. Watch the game in action, and clipping issues abound. Clothes don't flow right, armor clips into itself and your character, and anything in the game world your character interacts with inevitably doesn't fit right into his/her hand.

Graphics don't need fixing. Game physics certainly do. We're barely above the level of physics we saw in Quake. Half-Life 2 was a decent step forward, but a far cry from where we really should be given what games look like in screenshots.

What a ridiculous statement. I could understand your argument if you yourself didn't have a decent pc to game on. Fact is, a PC is commonplace in a home. A simple upgrade makes that PC play modern games, and those upgrade costs can be less than or more than the cost of a console..

Although I do agree with you about physics, I believe in 10 years you will look back at games today and laugh at the graphics

There is no reason to stop improving on anything, if it can be better, it should be better.... I think facial movements and body movements need to be worked on, La Noir is a good example of what it should look like.

Funny because people who pirated the game had this issue. The exact same issue in the exact same place.

Dead Space 2 is what a PC port should be. It runs fantastic, looks great and plays like a dream. I get 150-200 fps @ 1080p on my system and that's a GTX260!

Honestly impressed allround by this game.

Wow, good to see the console versions are so close. Impressed with the developer for making two very different architectures end up performing so identically.

Bit of a shame that the PC version isn't much better, I wish developers would make high res textures in the first place then just nerf them for the console versions, as opposed to what they currently do.

Surely it can't be THAT hard to just make the textures higher res when you actually design them, then compress/downsample them to whatever size they need to be for the console..?

Anyway, at least playing at high res at 60fps should be much better, as always

Anyway, graphics are very good, if you consider that DS2 is still a console port. I'm playing it on my PS3 and I'm liking it very much, although I'd like to try it on the PC just to see how it looks like.
