Tomoz, I'm hoping to buy the ASUS GTX 480

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...odid=GX-222-AS

Is there anything I need to know?

Would I void my warrenty if I increase the voltage on there to get the Core to 850MHz?

Yea, it'll never arrive. Look at ETA, look at the current range. Unless there is a wholesaler with backlogged stock, it'll constantly be on an ETA.

But at such a low price, I think it's worth it though.

For such a low price, it's worth buying something that most likely, will never arrive? I mean, i'm guessing here... but I don't think they will get stock in.

I thought of the idea on getting the 480 would be great because it's cheap and I can clock it up to run around the same performance as the 580, The tempature's don't bother me really, as long as I have suffienct cooling in my case, I don't think it will be all that bad

Then I will be constantly complaining to them like I did with SCAN, They got so annoyed with me that I eventually got my own way.

You wouldn't get anything more than a refund. It's an ETA (estimated) they could keep estimating for 10 years and they'd still be legally in the clear

I'm not saying they definitely won't come in, just that it's unlikely. Scan had a Gigabyte 4870 listed on pre-order for about 5 months after the 5xxx series came out and it never came in. Basically, each product has a SKU# in their systems the SKU# will be marked as active or discontinued. If no more stock is confirmed the SKU# will go to "D" and they will remove the entry and sell of last stock. What happens a lot in retailers is that the line doesn't change and is still active and thus the advert stays up.

Where I used to work we had a Samsung monitor range that I knew weren't produced any more and that no more stock was coming in. However, because head office hadn't updated the SKU# from A to D, we couldn't remove it from sale as it was technically still active. This may be what is happening. I'm just saying don't expect to get the card. Stick your money forth, see what happens and worse case scenario is you get a refund.

Fair enough, Thanks for the heads up, I will be looking around for more offer's then to see how cheap I can get a GTX 480, if not, Then I will have to consider on getting this one.

Anyway's, Would I void my warrenty if I got the ASUS one? because it comes with the voltage tweaker to overclock higher?
