New mouse: the search is on!

Currently I'm using Logitechs top end wireless mouse (MX I believe). As a general purpose mouse it's great. As a gaming mouse it's just "ok". It seems I can never get a DPI setting that is just right. With that said, I'm looking for something better. I've looked at everything from the R.A.T. 7, to various Razers, to Microsoft's Sidewinder, to even Logitechs own gaming mice and have come up undecided. What do you guys use and what do you think of your mouse?

Only goes up to 1500 dpi on the Performance MX -- not very high.

I've been pretty satisfied with my Roccat Kone[+]. I had the first model of Kone but sold it to get the new one, it has 6000DPI and EasyShift[+] and some appearance modifying compared to the prev model. It feels good to the hand and is very precise with Steelseries QcK at least. It has four separately color-customizable LEDs and removable weights.

Thanks for the tip. It looks comfortable to hold. As for "normal" vs. claw grip -- what do you guys prefer? I mainly play FPS but have been looking to get into Starcraft or Civilization V. Does one grip favor a type of game play over the other?

Razer Abyssus... its cheap and cheerful

it goes up to 3500dpi so its not rediculous, and has physical switches underneath (that are inside a bezel, so dont get switched during gameplay) and its comfortable to someone who has suck a claw grip i get called dr.zoidberg.

Well, I've played all kinds of games with this a lot, StarCraft 1/2, Bad Company 2, Civilization IV/V, Mass Effect 1/2, Just Cause 2, etc etc etc, all work very well on that kind of grip. I like bigger mice like that, I just can't get along with tiny ones.
