Ok, so I returned the R.A.T. 7 -- nice mouse but just not for me or my hand. Picked up a Logitech g500 and like it a lot. Though my local Best Buy got some Razer Imperators in stock and i was intrigued. I picked one of those up too. Only one of these mice will win. I like the razers grip even more, though it is quite light. We'll see how it goes gaming tonight. Anyone who owns either of these mice care to weigh in?

400/800 is all you need.

I can't believe everybody is being bought into the "higher the dpi the better" sham.

Too high DPI and it will become too sensitive. So many fps gaming pros still use 400/800 dpi even when their mouse offers 1800/3500+ dpi. The DPI scam is a WELL known fact amongst the competitive gaming communities and it's targeted at people who don't know any better. The faster the number, the better it must be right? No.

You might wanna check out the G700 instead of the G500, its a very similar shape to your old mouse and its also wireless with DPI settings.

IMO, 400 dpi is the best for FPS games. Too high and it will become too sensitive. So many fps gaming pros still use 400/800 dpi even when their mouse offers 1800+ dpi.
Lol 400 dpi. Have fun picking up that mouse 50 times to move 3 inches.

As for my dilemma, I like the G500's fuller grip and I like the Razers contoured mouse buttons and stickier body. Decisions decisions.

You obviously have no idea what DPI even does.

I considered that but I've heard a lot of people knock it for shifty wireless performance.

Um...yeah I do. Higher DPI means less movement on my part = happier me.
