So people would buy the 69 series.

Bingo, why get 6970's/580's when tri-sli/fire 6870/560's will perform almost as well for far less money.

Do you know which companies usually releases these cards? XFX? I'm not much of an AMD guy but I'm considering their cards do to value/money reasons.

because the 6850 and 6870 are the revised version of the 5770 and 5750 thus making them low-mid range cards so they don't really need it if u got cash to burn for 6800 series to trifire get the 6900 series

Because AMD wants you to pay for their higher-end GPUs rather than CFX the cheaper lower end ones to hell and blast their top end cards outta the water. Same goes for the reason the GTX 460 only did 2 way SLi.

Thanks for the answers guys. Let's hope that a manufacturer will release a trifire/quadfire version of HD 6850/6870 in the future. smile.gif Rep+ added to everyone.

they're midrange cards. idea is if you want more than one additional card you buy the higher end versions
