It is the PCH a.k.a. "Southbridge." It is underneath this heatsink.

So about two week's worth of Intel i5/i7 motherboards?

Eh, ok. Not chaotic.

Great. After taking 1 full day yesterday to undo my 3 watercooling loops totally, cleaning everything, every waterblocks, radiators and even every compression fittings, then taking hours to build my new system with the Asus Maximus IV Extreme, now I have to take it all down again!?!?!

Typical for me. I do everything the day BEFORE the announcement. Sigh.

I'm so angry right now, there is not a single emoticon existing that can't show all the hate/angry/pain I'm feeling right now.

Exactly. At least this was found now. Not in September or something ..

I will call up Microcenter tmmw, See what thier plan of action is.
If none, Ill just exchange my mobo, and continue to do so until the "fixed" boards are in stock.. The old ones are flawed anyways,, whats the harm in exchanging and using 5 different ones?

Two weeks? You mean months worth of shipped boards....

The corrected chipsets won't be avaliable for 3-4 more weeks. Then shipping volume will return to normal 2 months later.... and I don't think that includes RMA numbers.

Controller degradation usually means corruption.
Once again...

This is a huge issue for SB owners.Revised boards will not ship to partners untill the end of February.Expect another month after that to get replacements out.I say refund is your best bet.
