This wouldn't be disturbing to me as there are several workarounds/options.

I find it funny many people here "upgraded" from 1366 or 1156 to this tbh.

Sad day for SB users indeed but what sadden me even more is the fact that lot of people take advantage of this to mock and troll around.

Wow, am I glad I visited the forum today, had just placed an order to 2500k and msi gd65 on sunday from newegg. My order was about to ship, I contacted newegg about the issue and they immediately offered to void my order, which I accepted.

I hope it gets fixed soon, or I guess I might as well wait for bulldozer or ib.

I really doubt AMD would accelerate their time table-they need to do BD right the first time. The last thing AMD can afford is having the massively-hyped BD end up like Phenom I.
Except for the fact that the BD motherboards support the current line up of AM3 CPU's.

They don't have to have the BD CPU's ready for release with the Mobo's. They can release the Mobo's ahead of the CPU's and people who have them would be prepared for when the CPU's ARE ready for release. Also, the Bobcat CPU's which are also designed for BD, ARE infact ready for release in Q1 2011.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_Bobcat

True Bobcat is not something to jump over, they're just really low end processors. But the fact that they're about ready for release shows that there is about to be a market for the BD motherboards.

So it would make sense that we would see those BD motherboards within the next month or two. Even it is two months from now, it would still beat Intels newly projected April release of SB.

Merely remarking on how I expect it should be worked out...obviously nothing is official.
Having our shipping covered is the least they could do.
Cross-ship would be even better.

i honestly dont really care about if either amd or intel takes the market lead whatever. as long as i can buy a decent chip for a good price im fine. we all know that if this does effect intel soo much that amd is going to take the lead(which seems highly unlikely with the succes of sandy bridge). we arent gonna expect any 300 dollar cpu's from em anymore...
