eyefinity and u2410

Thread Starter
Hello guys, I have a couple questions today. I am currently thinking of upgrading my sig rig and going to the intel side with their new i7 2600k. I am going to reuse the setup I have now and just change the mobo and the cpu, for the mobo I'm going to trade my formula for a maximus extremeiv and for the cpu I'm going to trade for a intel i7 2600k and overclock it to 5.0ghz 24/7 under water, and for the ram someone said my exsisting ram would be compatible is this true??

But my real question is about a eyefinity setup I'm trying to build, I have a 6970 from xfx and game from time to time, for the monitor I have a samsung lcd 720p and I feel I'm not using that card to its full potential. I was thinking of buying 3 dell u2410 monitor and run them in landscape for gaming and wen I'm watching a movie run them in portrait mode so I could have the big screen

Would that be a good choice in monitor?
Could my gpu max out some games on all 3 of them?
If not would the new 6990 or 5970 max it out?
Would the 3 screens in portrait mode be about the same as a 32inch tv?

Sorry for the long post and thank you very much, rep will be issued to those who help

1:st The dell U2410 is a GREAT monitor. It's AMAZING. You will not regret it.

2: 3x U2410 in portrait would be closer to a 40" monitor or something.

i just finished my sig-rig, i went with 3x acer 21.5'' monitors @ 130$/each...the 2 6850's run my bfbc2 on max settings with 2 monitor eyefinity...dont have my display port adaptor yet to activate the 3rd...but the preformance is great on my crossfired cards...the difference between a 6970 and 2 6850's is about 30% more to the 6850's...and mine run somewhere along the lines of 80-100 FPS max settings 2 monitors...3 monitors i would expect a dip to 65-90 fps...you should see something like 50-60ish with a 6970 i'd guess

Just decided to do an eyefinity setup. Started with a 6850 which is a great card but since the game that I mainly play WOW does'nt support crossfire I returned it and went with a 6950 which I got a good price on at 256.99. I now need to pick out the monitors. I have 23" at work and one 20" at home. I've got someone who wants my 20" monitor so I'm wide open to purchase three new monitors.

Been going back and forth as to which to go with and today I saw the Acer 21.5" monitors for 129$. Which seems like a nice compromise in size between 20" and 23". Still quite a bit of real estate once set up.

My long winded question being how do you like the size, quality etc of your new 21.5" monitors? For me the price is right but am unfamiliar with Acer products. They also had 23" emachines for 119$ which are made by acer, but for gaming the salesman told me they were pretty low end.

The review looked good, but though I'd ask. Thanks for your time
