Have you killed a 570? (No recent deaths, buy some 570s!) - Page 120

On the last Tuesday my GTX 570 died.

But I never did overclock it -.- "
Died while I was playing Minecraft. Cool ..

And the worst of all, is that I live in Brazil, and the RMA eVGA doesn't has support in Brazil.
I had to pay 58BRL to send (approximately $ 33 today), and $94 for back.

The computer just shut off while I was playing Minecraft (version 1.8 is pulling much of the GPU)
I tried to turn on again and did not show video.

Well, it is my third card from EVGA. And this GTX 570 was the only card from EVGA that I've had problems.

Searching Overclock.net and other forums, I can say that the VRM just burned. =/

Sorry for my bad english frown.gif

EDIT:

User: Drifto570
Core Voltage: stock
Clocks: stock ( never overclocked )
OCP/Power limit disabled: N
Load Temperature: 86~88 ( Furmark )

RIP EVGA GTX 570 #3

Played Titan Quest last night fine. Tonight I was surfing the net and noticed some abnormalities on my screen. Figured up BC2 and there were black boxes/lines/messed up textures all over the place just like the last two that died. What a flaming piece of ****. I even made sure not to take the memory clock past 2000 on this one. Completely fed up with this. Never again will I buy the "second best" single card. I'll take this as god laughing at me for buying a 570 because it was "fast enough" (its not) and not forking over the extra cash for a 580.

BF3 comes out in 5 days and I get to play with a single 5770 that doesn't even overclock well. Plus my shiny new 120hz LCD and 3D Vision kit are useless until I get my third RMA back. This is ridiculous. It's not even the VRMs exploding on mine either.

edit: how are these things still $330+? Did EVGA stop making reference designs? If I get one of these "HD" models back I'm going to be furious. Considered grabbing another so I could play BF3 then SLI when this one comes back (I need more GPU power anyway) but for $20 less than I paid a full year ago for a model with a stupid cooler and knowing they don't have enough vram, I'll pass.

I didn't kill these, they were DOA. BOTH OF THEM.

2x GIGABYTE GV-N570OC-13I Rev2.0 GeForce GTX 570

From newegg. I'm really starting to regret not going with 6970's now. Just like pewpew, I will be playing BF3 with an under powered card until the RMA get's back. and even then I suspect that I will have issues with those. I really wish I would have seen this thread last week.

Damn unlucky! I've got a Gigabyte GV-N570OC-13I Rev 1.0 and it's been working great at 850/1700/2000 @ 1.050v.

Only the reference design GTX 570, although you can get non reference designs with more robust VRMs that fixes the issue.

Asus GTX 570 DirectCU II
MSI GTX 570 Twin Frozor III/PE
EVGA GTX 570 Classified
Gigabyte GTX 570 SOC
Gainward GTX 570 Phantom

I think my EVGA 560ti died. No serious overclocking, think I bumped the GPU maybe 25 mhz above stock and left the ram alone... it just shut off when I was playing dead island, and heard a pop when attempting to start up, not loud. Don't see any damage, not going to take it apart though to check. Tried it on a different computer, did not work. VGA light went on.. gonna RMA it.

I hope your using MSI Afterburner to run your clocks with manual fan speed you set. It monitors temps for you and you keep track of average, low, and high specs all by a double click in the box with specs your watching.

Hmm so its ok when gets really hot? I mean heatsink of RAM and VRM... Ok then btw my card never goes beyond 75c for GPU temp, usually 65 - 73c sometimes 74c I guess I'm safe right? confused.gif
Yes I always use OSD AB to monitoring mycard while gaming or benching smile.gif and I use manual fan speed by increasing graphic in auto fan, do I have to set fan speed to .... such as 75% all around at OC daily?
Btw I only change setting like this --> 50c/60% fan speed and 70c/70% fan speed...beyond that it goes 1:1 up to 85% of max fan speed.
