Yes I always use OSD AB to monitoring mycard while gaming or benching smile.gif and I use manual fan speed by increasing graphic in auto fan, do I have to set fan speed to .... such as 75% all around at OC daily?
Btw I only change setting like this --> 50c/60% fan speed and 70c/70% fan speed...beyond that it goes 1:1 up to 85% of max fan speed.

Your fine with 74C easily bud. Really hot is past 90C. I'd worry about it at 90C-95C and panic anything higher.

My GTX 580, idles 42C, averages 76C and highest 79C hottest and that's only after an all day marathan between myself and kids gaming. Natrually your current ambient room temp can cause a variance depending on how cool the room your tower is and where it's located.

Your fan settings should not be one constant but a variable depending on temp the GPU is putting out. Set the graph accordingly.

Fan settings:

40C - 46%
50C - 57%
60C - 68%
70C - 79%
80C - 90%
90C - 100%

It will only ramp up during gaming. At 90C the worry point that fan should be 100% maxed out. smile.gif Mine are a bit more aggressive than those specs above.

I've been having some weird issues lately and I'm wondering if my GTX 570 has this VRM leak. I cant seem to find where these pictures you guys have are on my video card. Is it on the back? If so I didn't see any leaking of anything. The back of my video card looks a lot different then the pics of the ones with the leaks. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Yeah, temps were way too high. There are fan control programs for a reason, use them next time.

Please. If he was running stock/never overclocked like he said then there is NO REASON he should have had to manually control fan speed. The STOCK fan profile is supposed to be sufficient for STOCK clocks/voltage. 86-88C is fine.

Played Titan Quest last night fine. Tonight I was surfing the net and noticed some abnormalities on my screen. Figured up BC2 and there were black boxes/lines/messed up textures all over the place just like the last two that died. What a flaming piece of ****. I even made sure not to take the memory clock past 2000 on this one. Completely fed up with this. Never again will I buy the "second best" single card. I'll take this as god laughing at me for buying a 570 because it was "fast enough" (its not) and not forking over the extra cash for a 580.
I think i'm a lucky guy, my Evga Gtx 570 SC has been running since january very well, no problems so far. I hope my card don't die on my until 600 series availability, im really afraid after reading that this is your third card that died :S

I have crap luck. Not sure what the deal is. It's not even the VRM death issue most people have.

Asked EVGA if I could exchange my card for a 580 and pay the difference and their response was that my step-up period has expired Dedicated EVGA customer since 2004 and they can't even cut my a break when I'm getting screwed. But I digress.

Had my first card go in April less than a month after getting it.

MSI N570GTX-M2D12D5/OC

The card began showing artifacts such as missing textures and vertexes of random 3d models extending way out of place such that spikes seemed to appear. Then after a week or so eventually started showing white spots on the screen and crashing constantly whenever 3d acceleration was used.

RMA'd it and got the second card which initially had graphics errors at stock voltage and MSI tech support recommended increasing the voltage to 1.013 which worked until last Saturday. Then I started seeing vertex spikes and missing graphics and the occasional crash.

RMA'd that one today and am now waiting for the replacement.

First card:
User: Squibbles
Core Voltage: stock
Clocks: Stock OC (786/2100)
OCP/Power limit disabled: No
Load Temperature: 82
VRM Cooling: Stock
What you were doing: Gaming (Rift and Minecraft)

Second card:
User: Squibbles
Core Voltage: 1.013 then tried 1.025 but it didn't help
Clocks: Stock OC (786/2100)
OCP/Power limit disabled: No
Load Temperature: 82
VRM Cooling: Stock
What you were doing: Gaming (Minecraft and Dungeon Defenders)

Only the reference design GTX 570, although you can get non reference designs with more robust VRMs that fixes the issue.

Asus GTX 570 DirectCU II
MSI GTX 570 Twin Frozor III/PE
EVGA GTX 570 Classified
Gigabyte GTX 570 SOC
Gainward GTX 570 Phantom

etc.
Got my RMA'd cards back the other day. One worked and the other wouldn't boot. Yet another RMA. The one that's working is working well though... for now. I have it at 875/2000 but I am a little afraid to go further until I have the second card as a back-up. I ain't touching the voltage.

Seems lot's of 570's are dying while playing Minecraft. The 570's kryptonite?

After burning out one GTX 570. I now have 4 of them, all Zotac branded nVidia reference based design. 2 in a 2600k, and 1 each in two 2500k's. When Ivy Bridge is released, I'd like to build another box and have considered putting 3 or 4 GTX 570's in it. I'd like to pick up a 2560x1600 or 2560x1440 display and was wondering if the 1.25gb of ram will be a limiting factor. Anyone here running GTX 570's in triple or quad sli?
